El Castillo Canon Fire Re-enactment

Here was another cool video. On the weekends, the Castillo puts on portrayals of the canon fire as it would have occurred in historical times.

We were lucky enough to be there to video this one.

I wasn't willing to video the actual shot - because I covered my ears - sorry about that. However, I think you get the idea from the video. The last 30 seconds has the firing of the canon.

Kait's foray into Braided Hemp Jewelry

Kait is definitely getting older. She is starting to like more mature topics. She's not so much into playing with Barbie and other toys as she used to be.

Here's an example:

they each had about $14 they could spend. Keeley bought Littlest Pet Shop. Kait bought jewelry making stuff.

Anyhow, tonight, I helped walk her through the process of hemp braiding - at least on a basic level. This was a great start, and she was totally thrilled with the results. AND, it took her quite a while. I think it'll be a nice time-consuming distraction in the weeks and months ahead.

This is good - as she is constantly looking for something to do besides play.

HMMMMMM ...

The perils of parenthood, and having children grow up.

I wish it weren't so.

The Girls and I, with a couple of Castillo Soldiers

Just for kick and giggles, here is a shot of the girls and I with a couple of the Castillo soldiers.

This was just after they did their authentic re-enactment of firing the cannon. You can't see it in the picture, but the distance of the cannon ball that would have been fired could reach the lighthouse. The lighthouse is about 1.5 miles away. You'll see some shots of us at the lighthouse and see how far away it is a little later.

Pretty cool!

Oh, what the heck.

Here is a picture with the Castillo marked in the distance.

Brief clips of El Castillo de San Marcos at Dusk ... St. Augustine, Florida

WOW - shock of all shocks. A 2nd addition in one day.

This place is pretty cool. The Castillo is a great place. We were walking down St. George street on this night, and I just HAD to visit the Castillo. It was like it was calling me over.

So, we spent a few minutes wandering around its walls. It lies right on the bay, so you can really just kind of sit there and soak in all of the surroundings.

Again, my video skills aren't much to write about, but just imagine being able to walk around this fort and enjoy the environment around you. It was a great site to visit.

Finally, a new update ... A Small video clip of Florida, and U.S., history

Hi,

It's been awhile, I know. And frankly ... that's alright. I am feeling terribly burned out right now, and I can't seem to pull myself out of this funk.

However, we WERE actually able to take a brief trip (thanks in HUGE PART to the recent 3 day weekend) to St. Augustine.

This is one video from that trip.

I'll be adding more in the future, but I thought I would share them as I get them done.

Talk soon!

Lake Parker walking trail in Lakeland, Florida

Hi,

I don't have a whole lot I want to say. I thought I would share a few shots from a recent walking trail we took in uptown Lakeland.

This trail is at a place called Lake Parker park. It is near ... Lake Parker, which is actually a pretty large lake (miles across). There are supposed to be lots of gators here, but we didn't have any run ins.

Mostly I just wanted to show a bit more scenic stuff around town.

A Web Update

Howdy y'all!

I know it's been awhile since we've updated things. And ... truth be told, it might still be longer until we update things again. I am not making any more promises about how often we will keep things going here. I hope it keeps going for a long, long time ... but I just don't know.

I have been spending a huge amount of time lately trying to figure out WHY I am in such a rut. And I still haven't really figured out what is going on.

I can tell you one thing ... I feel deep down inside of every fiber of who I am that I have something to say. And I feel compelled to write it. I don't know why, or how, we ever became a society that gave up our life missions to live in mediocrity. Not that working means mediocrity. But, doing things that you hate, that make you miserable, that drain your enthusiasm and vitality are NOT marks of true living.

And, I am doing the same things ... so I know what I am saying.

It's not about just 'work' per se. It's about finding what you were created to do - and doing THAT.

However, I am bound and determined to get to that place where I can live out what I truly believe is my passion. Whether it happens in 7 days, 365 days, 3 years, or 10 years ... I can't just sit idly by while my passions lie stagnant. I can't!

I have seen so many people, with such extra-ordinary talents end up in a place of miserable blah! I am fighting that lifestyle with every ounce of strength I have to fight it with. At present ... I am losing.

Unfortunately, sometimes, you find yourself in a place where you can't do a whole lot more to move forward. All you can do is ... slowly work your way through it. With patience, discipline, belief, and diligence.

I find myself in a similar place right now.

Honestly, I don't know where I, or we, will end up. I wish I did. I wish it were easy. I wish things were already planned out and simplified for me.

But ... they're not.

I just have to keep pressing on ... hoping, and progressing, and planning to reach something amazing out there in our future. So, I hope you'll stick with me, and keep praying for us to come out where we should.

I appreciate all of your prayers, your time, your love, and your care for all of us. We look forward to bigger and better things in the future.

One quick note:

Here's an interesting strategy that has been making me some decent money lately. For the past 60 days - 30% of my sales have come from this tip. So I know it works.

1. Find a topic you love. Or something that you have a WILD opinion about.

2. Register a domain name about that topic

3. Find a product related to your topic at Clickbank.com (make sure the product has some decent historical sales)

4. Forward your cool domain name, via an affiliate link, to the Clickbank product you found.

5. Write 250-500 word articles that are good, motivating, powerful, enlightening, useful etc ...

6. Post your articles on the web (in forums, facebook, myspace, ezinearticles, other article directories, hubpages, squidoo, etc.)

7. At the end of the article put in your domain name (so your reader has somewhere else you suggest they can go for information)

8. Voila ... website profits!

For a PERFECT example ... check out my www.__________radio.com domain. If you don't know what that is, write me and ask. I'll let you know. If you don't know, and you don't care, then no problem - don't lose any sleep over it.

All the best,

Al

Hello ... Grandma Jackie!

This is an Ode to my Grandma.

I can't count how many times I've seen my Grandma Jackie wandering the halls looking just like this.

So, when Chris fixed Keeley up this way one night, I just had to snap off a few pics.

Grandma ... I hope you like the look. It reminds me of you!

Love,
Al
