Back to the Grind

Okay I've been a bad blogger, but I promise to try to be better. I have plenty of material. That's not the problem, the problem is I'm just running around crazy and my girls have sooo much homework. This is the third week of full school for them and I swear they each have at least one test everyday. They feel stressed and so do I. My 9 year old forgot some of her multiplication facts over the summer so I am trying to get her to review everyday, but she has so much other work to do she fights me. It's aggravating, but hey she's a tween. It's only going to get worse.

My 13 year old is quite the joiner this year. She volunteered to go in early every morning and help with the arrival of the nursery school kids. She tells me they cry and scream and try to escape. Some of them have elaborate plans. I find this all very amusing. She's gotten very attached to them in a short time and enjoys doing this. She has also joined the Theater Club, Social Studies Club and Science club. It's a busy schedule, but she seems to be doing okay so far. She's also in the process of applying to private high school's in the area. This is very stressful, but the public school in the city we live in is not an option. She currently goes to a small Catholic school and is hoping to continue to go to a small Catholic High School. She studies very hard and I hope she gets into the one she wants to attend. Tonight we will attend a high school fair so she can ask some more questions. We'll be visiting all the school she likes. It's going to be a busy fall.

Well I hope to post more about my crazy life. The girls really do keep me hopping.

92% Savings at Publix!

It has been just about a year since I started super couponing and I am still just as thrilled when I get good savings as I was the first time. I never get tired of getting things for free or pennies! And don't forget about getting paid to take things home as well!
I am truly amazed at how God has provided this for our family at a time when we really needed it. I can now stock our pantry, freezer and bathroom cupboards for less than half of what I was just a year ago. And back then by the end of the month there was not much left over. Now I could go a month or more with out buying anything and we would still have some left. And I have been able to donate so many things to a local shelter and church food pantry that I never could have done before. Not with out making my family go with out anyway. God truly does provide all things!
So this weeks grocery trip I saved a whopping 92% On everything that I got! The total before sales and coupons was $ 106.91 and what I paid after sales and coupons $19.40! Can you believe it!?

Here is a little bit more of a break down of the savings. The total saved just by shopping for the sales was $55.87. And the total value of the coupons that I used was $63.74.

  • 2.5- lbs Oranges Sale of $1.49 and I used a Target store coupon for $1.00 produce. (this is not such a great sale price for the oranges but Kait was really craving them so I thought this price along with the Target coupon made for a good deal!)

There are a few coupons coming out in this Sundays paper to go with this weeks sales. So I will be headed over to get more things this week. One of those things is canned Veggies. They are on BOGO this week and there will be a coupon for that brand in this Sundays paper, so I will be getting them. I also happened to notice, tonight while shopping, a sale on some coffee creamer, and they had some blinkie coupons right in front of them so I may end up getting some of that too.
But even if I spend another $15.00 I will still be well under budget this week. And I will most likely be picking up more grapes and pears as well. I still have some Target coupons to use! There is also going to be a 1/2 off sale on all Kelloggs cereal this Saturday and Sunday. I have a few coupons so I may pick some up as well. We are very stocked on cereal so I will just have to see what the prices are for some of the cereals that don't go BOGO and see if it is a great deal. I will be sure to post again after my next trip!

What I got this week!

Well the sales were not as good for me this week. But for sure that does not mean that there are not good deals to be had.
So before sales and coupons the total for what I got would have been $59.89. And the total that I paid after sales and coupons $10.09! That is a savings of 84%!

Here is all that I got for the small amount of $10.09...
  • 1- Maxwell House coffee $1.99 I used a .75 off Q that I had. Final price $1.29

So for me this week there was nothing much there, but still worth a trip to get free milk. Especially since the girls finished the milk that we had this morning.
And I will be watching to make sure that there are not any other coupons that come out this weekend to make for better deals with this weeks sale. So who knows I may end up making another trip.
But for now this is it!

And here is a purchase that I made yesterday at Publix. The total before sales and coupons was $36.70. And the total after sales and coupons was $3.35. I used the last of the gift card that I had won from awhile back so all that I paid out of pocket for all this was .03cents!
